A coupling is a component that connects two different rotating bodies (such as motor shafts, ball screws, etc.) with the purpose of transmitting torque. It absorbs the misalignment (eccentricity, angular deviation, axial vibration) between the rotating bodies, thus reducing the difficulty of assembly and adjustment. In case of accidental overload, the coupling will be the first to fail, disconnecting the rotating bodies to protect the expensive power unit and the overall device.
